The dress that got away..

I still regret letting this baby go.

I really loved this dress. This is the dress that gave me butterflies and made me so gitty. Since I show the Hubby everything, I showed him the dress. He was stunned by the black. I mean STUNNED. He could not believe that a wedding gown dress maker would place black on a gown. I was crushed. He had his idea and I had mine. He hates when I use the word "vintage" and I really think his idea of a wedding is still set in 1989. He told me to get whatever makes me happy..but I saw his face. The look said "Oh God PLEASE don't let this woman get this dress!"
I caved and let it go. My Husband has been a giver our entire relationship, always giving me everything I ever ask for..no questions asked. I decided to give him what he wanted for once. To see his wife in a gown that would be a timeless classic. I still have regrets over it from time to time but thats ok..marriage is about compromise.
Now my Husband is happy...

I know that in 10 or 20 years when I look back I will be grateful because to me the new gown is a timeless classic. I am still keeping some of "me". It still holds true to my vintage appeal and adding the birdcage veil really makes me smile. Let's not forget that I have picked a rockin vintage hairstyle, a 3 strand vintage pearl necklace from etsy and my brand new red patent leather vintage inspired kitten peep toes.
I know when I look back in 10 or 20 years I will not regret picking a classic.

I do love the man!!

The black and white dress if fabulous, but it looks too much like a prom dress to me.

Your gown is so gorgeous!

Ya know that was what I said when letting it go. It seemed more like a red carpet gown versus a wedding gown..again which is why in the end, I am glad I picked something timeless..
