The Mr. and I needed some vows for our civil ceremony on May 16th. This has proven to be tricky. Sentimental but not overkill. Meaningful but simple.
My faith is..well..complicated. Let's leave it at that (fear of judgment). The Mr. is Catholic. We both agreed that we did not want a "religious" approach to the words spoken.
(I hope that did not offend anyone, if so I apologize!)
If anyone watches the show "Numb3rs" you will know what this is.I added some tweaks but this is it!
I will add, this is one of his favorite shows and it is one we always take time to watch together
(ok 80% of the time!)
Minister:
Love defies time
Outliving both its source, and its object.
Love is faster than light..for light requires time in order to travel through space but love reaches its object... instantaneously.
Love journeys forever into infinity..
Love is here…binding together two lives.
The wedding ring is a symbol of eternity. It is an outward sign of an inward and spiritual bond which unites two hearts in endless love.
Minister: And now as a token of your love and of your deep desire to be forever united in heart and soul, you ___, may place a ring on the finger of your bride."
Groom: "____, I give you this ring as a reminder that I will live, honor, and cherish you,
In all times,
In all places.
And in all ways , forever.."
Minister: "By the same token ____, you may place a ring on the finger of your groom."
Bride: "____, I give you this ring as a reminder that I will live, honor, and cherish you,
In all times,
In all places.
And in all ways , forever.
I got teary eyed when I found the ring exchange words! It fit so perfectly.I can only imagine what it will be like that day!!
EXCITING!!!
Happy Planning!!
